Ulta/NYX Haul

Hello dolls! If you are not a fan of Ulta or the NYX brand I am about to seriously change your mind. Ulta does a 40% off promotion NYX every once in awhile so when it happens I snatch up as much as I can. There are other brands in the sale, but this trip I was all about the NXY since it is one of my favorites. The promotion started 6/29 and is still going on so I highly suggest going to a store and checking it out, or looking online. If you aren't familiar with the NYX brand, it is an affordable, cruelty free makeup brand that has tons of shades, finishes, and palettes of any makeup you can think of. If you have ever been on Pinterest, you have seen their products and chances are some reviews. I could go on and on for days about NYX, but we are not here for that so I will get right to my goodies :)

Now first off let me say that I actually held myself back and could have spent more simply because it was such a good deal, and because I had an Ulta gift card so it wasn't even my money. If you have seen NYX before you know that the most expensive product they have would be a palette for about $15 so having 40% off of that is amazing! I got mostly lip products and the most I spent on one item was $3.59, yes you read that right $3.59. Just to get it out of the way, I also got a free mascara for my birthday, which everyone gets if they are a rewards member regardless of how much you spend there so I highly recommend it. When your birthday roles around, Ulta will send you an email with a redeemable coupon for a free mascara. I never turn down anything free so when I saw a free ck one mascara I was all about it. That was $18 I didn’t have to spend and I had a high quality mascara. The packaging is the typical Calvin Klein packaging with a little "Happy Birthday" border on it that I thought was cute. The tube of mascara is fairly big, as long as my hand so I am pumped to see how it makes my lashes look.

Alright, now onto the NYX goodness. I am going to start with what I spent the most on, give a little description of it both from the website and me, swatch it and then let you know what I paid for it so I can justify getting it. Surpringly everything I got was on my wish list from the NYX website which means I didn’t buy anything I wasn't gonna wear just because there was a sale. I got mostly lip products because I am having a huge lippie moment, but I think I might be going back to get more face products because of the price, I still have money on my gift card and this brand does not irritate my extremely sensitive skin so it is worth it for me.

Matte Lipstick in Summer Breeze         mls06
This is my first matte lipstick from NYX, but I do own about 3 of the matte lip creams and I love them so I knew I would love this as well.  The color is described as "clean blue-toned pink" which I would say is accurate. I love blue-toned lip products because they make your teeth look whiter, which is never a problem in my book. It is fairly pigmented and one swipe will give you the exact color of it. Typical pink, not too bright, but just the right amount of brightness to give your look a little pop. The feel of it is almost like a balm, creamy to the touch and gives lips a soft feel without being drying. Definitely going to be rocking this color soon, it is bright and summery and will not get stuck in my hair when I drive with the windows down.  Regular price:$5.99 Sale price: $3.49

Butter Lipstick in Hunk                        bls05
The whole reason I started becoming obsessed with NYX was due to all the great reviews on the butter lip gloss. When they came out with the butter lipstick I knew I would adore it, and I did. I wanted a plum lipstick and this fits the bill. Plum may not be best for summer, but I know I will wear it for fall, yes I am thinking about fall stop giving me that look. I will say it is lighter than it looks online, it is described as "blue violet" and I would call it more of a plum, not as dark. You could build up to that color for sure by layering, but I like it as is. It stays true to the "butter" title it has, creamy and just gives your lips a little treat. Regular price: $5.99 Sale price:$3.49

Nude Matte Shadow Leather and Lace                    nms17
Now this is a repurchase, I have it already, love it and I am starting to be able to see the pan in the bottom so I had to get more real quick. I use it as a base for almost all my eye looks it just gives a nice, matte look and sometimes I will wear it on its own just because my eyelids are so light you can see my veins so it gives a cleaner look. It is described as a "soft peachy pink" and I would say that is true. A little goes a long way and packing it on it not necessary. Regular price: $4.99 Sale price: $2.99

Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Nude Peach                   lg162
The only problem I have with these glosses are that some of them are super filled with glitter, which can look good, but sometimes with glosses, the color will fade away but the glitter will stay. I will say this, the swatches online look 3 times more glittery than they do in real life. On the website it is described as "Shimmery Coral (pearl)". Now I don't know why it is called peach if it is a coral, but it is a coral. Not sure I would call it a shimmer, but there is a hint of pearl there that I like. I am currently trying out more of coral, orange lip colors just because I have so much pink so we will see how this goes. The formula is great, not sticky at all and smells like licorice when you first put it on. Also the little bow on the top of the tube just makes it a little more adorable. Regular price: $ 4.99 Sale price: $2.99

Butter Gloss in Madeleine                               blg14
I can never say enough wonderful things about butter gloss, it is my go to gloss and I have almost every shade. They are great for when you want a hint of color, or a bright look at me shade. Plus the desert names are just too cute. This shade is a "mid-tone nude" and that is spot on. It is always good to have a few nude shades for when you want to go crazy with eye makeup and have a more subtle lip. It really does feel like it melts on your lips and they just feel good while you wear it. Regular price: $4.99 Sale price: $2.99

Retractable Lip Liner in Nude           mpl10
When I first started building my lip collection I did not have any lip liners, after a few months of using glosses and lipsticks I realized I needed it. Of course since there was a sale I got some. I have the pencil versions, so I wanted to try the mechanical version. "Neutral pink-beige"  is exactly what I would call it. It is a lip pencil so there isn't much to say about it. Regular price: $4.49 Sale price: $2.69

Retractable Lip Liner in Plum                mpl16
Same as above, I am just trying to build up my lip liner collection so I got a purple for all the purple shades I have got recently. It is your basic "purple" and that is exaclty how it is described on the site so it is true to that. Regular price: $4.49 Sale price: $2.69

Slim Eye Pencil Dark Brown               903
I am trying to break out of my black eyeliner, which us why I got dark brown. It might as close as you can get to black, but hey baby steps people. It has a good milky texture which is great for eyeliner because it goes on that much easier. Regular price: $3.49 Sale price: $2.09

Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippie in Pomegranate Margarita     cdhl04
I have wanted to try these for awhile and not only was there a sale, but they were also on clearance so they were even cheaper. It is similar to other lip crayons out there, but it is less waxy than most. Also there is no smell at all. It is described as "iridescent violet"  I don’t know if I would call it iridescent as much as sheer. It would be easy to build up to a violet, but I think it looks good just one layer. It feels slightly heavier than a chapstick or a balm would feel. It is a good purple for summer because it gives you the color without washing you out and making the look too dark. Regular price:$5.99 Clearance price: $2.99 Sale price: $1.79

Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippie in Sex on the Beach       cdhl05
Again these were on sale so there was no passing these bad boys up. Had I known these were on clearance plus the sale, I would have got all the colors they had. Anywho, it has the same formula as the other one and I love it. On the site it is described as "red-orange" and I would say that it is more red than orange.  I would say it is more red with orange undertones on me.
Regular price:$5.99 Clearance price: $2.99 Sale price: $1.79

Nude Matte Shadow  "In the Buff"           nms03
I love matte shadow just because it can be casual and formal and looks good on anyone. Now I found this little bad boy in the clearance section. The shadows are super pigmented and you don’t need a lot to get the color you want. The website describes it as "navy blue" and that is dead on. You could get a darker color if you really packed it on so that is a plus. Regular price: $4.99 Clearance price: $2.99 Sale price: $0.97!
