My fall favorites in outfits

After my post about my favorite fall fashion items, I went over to polyvore and created outfits based on the post. I created an outfit for each one of my four favorite fashion items of fall. The first one I created was based around a pair of riding boots.

Fall Favorites; Boots

This shows how a pair of riding boots can look with a fall wardrobe. They add a touch of toughness to the outfit while still being useful and looking great. Make the boots the main event of the outfit by wearing with neutral colors and keeping the patterns down to a minimum. The next outfit demonstrates how to wear a sweater without looking overly dressed up.

Fall Favorites; Sweater

Personally, I have worn an outfit similar to this and I love it. Stripes are always a great way to go and in the fall they are a must. I am a fan of the wider stripes just because I feel like they are more grown up. Any-who, I wanted to dress the sweater down so dark wash jeans, sneakers, sunglasses, and a leather bag was the way to go. It is simple and awesome. Tights are up next!

Fall Favorites; Tights

This outfit would be an example of a more dressed up way to wear tights. By adding tights to the dress makes it wearable both during the cold days, but it also makes it perfect for going out at night. All black accessories makes the dress the main focus of the outfit. Also, keeping the tights and shoe the same color elongates the leg which is always a plus. And last certainly not least we have the hoodie.

Fall Favorites; Hoodie

See, I told you hoodies can look cute! Cute and comfy is always the way to go during the fall. It is still warm enough to walk around without a full jacket so make hoodies your friends. The pop of purple and accessories transform this plain, black hoodie into an outfit you would not be embarrassed to be seen in. Now keep these outfits and my fall favorites when you are getting ready on the coming chilly mornings. Stay stylish!

Now for all of those who may have had a case of the Mondays today, here is a video that will lift your spirits and put you in a better mood for the rest of the week. Enjoy and try not to tear up!

Creepy drive and the sun comes out

Well this was my creepy drive to work this morning. A quiet Sunday morning with barely anyone else on the road was made much creepier by this thick fog. These pictures were taken at stop signs a few streets over and that is when I made the wise decision to take the back roads and not the highway to work.

Right when I was about to leave North Andover and make my way to the store my dad called me, I pulled over a little bit and snapped some more pictures. It was just so eerie, actually in these pictures there were about 4 cars on the other side. The amazing thing was how many people did not have their lights on. The fog was not thick enough to distort the light for the driver, but to warn people on the road that there were people ahead. Plus it is comforting being able to see the lights of the car in front of you so that you know you have not slipped into a horror movie. I am just grateful I made the rare good judgement call oh not going on the highway because I would have been going 5 mph the whole time. Luckily the day cleared up and I had over 3,000 flowers to clean and fit into a cooler today.

This is the cooler that I filled to the brim today with some great looking flowers. Now it may not look like much but there are 3 shelves in there and boy did I stuff that bad boy. Usually when I clean the flowers and replace water in buckets while doing inventory of all the flowers it roughly takes me 2-3 hours while I wait on customers as well. Today it took me over 5 hours!!!! I do not slack when it comes to this so I was more than shocked when it took me almost my whole shift to complete it. I was starting to think that my co-worker had been hiding flowers and bringing them out when I was not looking. Even though it took me forever, and I was sore and dirty, that cooler looked damn good. When the cooler looks good, flowers sell and that is the main goal so job well done in my book.

The great thing was the wonderful weather I came home to. Will you look at those clouds! They look like someone painted them there. And that blue of the sky, I swear if I did not get third degree burns every time I sat in the sun I would be out there all day. Knock New England's ever changing weather all you want, it keeps me on my toes and I like it. Hope everyone had a wonderful Sunday!

Fall Fashion Favorites

Fall is slowly coming us here in New England. While the forecast for the coming week has temperatures in the 70s, I still want to discuss fall fashion. All the seasons have a different place in my heart, but fall dominates the fashionista in me. After a summer of just trying to stay cool, it is nice to be able to put on clothes that feel and look good. You can stay warm while not having to sacrifice a cute outfit to a bulky coat. And now I give you my favorite clothing items that come with the fall air;

1)Boots, whether they be suede, leather, black, brown, knee-high or thigh high, boots are always a must-have and a staple in a fall wardrobe. Boots come in all styles, colors, heights and can never bring an outfit down in my opinion. So far I have seen some great riding boots that are great for casual outfits.

Riding boots such as these Bare Traps Riding Boots can be added to any outfit and make it look great. Boots like these can be dressed up or dressed down and will an essential for the whole season. Pair them with jeans and hoodie, or rock them with a dress and some tights.

2)Hoodies, I doubt many fashion forward people would consider a hoodie a fashion item, but in my book it is an essential and everyone should have as many as they see fit. Hoodies do not have to be a large, bulky sweatshirt that lives in the back of closets reserved for a lazy day. These days hoodies come in slimmer fits and can show your shape rather than hide it. Personally I own more hoodies than I will ever need, but they are just so darn comfy. They provide warmth and can be stylish.

This hoodie from Gap has a slimmer fit and still looks cute. You could wear this with jeans of any color or add a cute scarf. Hoodies like this give the ability to stay warm, but still be able to wear cute shirts underneath for when the temperatures go up a bit. Hoodies, get them, love them

3)Tights, don't you worry tights are no longer for elementary school, now they are a great way to transform summer dresses and skirts into wearable fall outfits. The first time I thought about wearing tights I did feel slightly childish, but then I saw all the different colors, textures, lengths and options of tights. I realized tights had grown up like I had. Oh what a wonderful discovery that was, no longer did I have to give up my dresses or subject my legs to the crisp breeze. My favorite would have to be any with a sweater texture. They just look cute and comfy, and that is always a great combo.

These great tights can be found at Target and are a great deal. Most department stores carry different brands so look around and you will be sure to find a pair that work for you

4)Sweaters, oh man sweaters are just the best. Literally the most versatile piece of clothing a person can own. I don't even need to go over the ways that sweaters can vary, they are just too perfect. Jeans, pants, skirts, dresses, all can be paired with sweaters and all can look wonderful. My favorites sweaters are the chunky cable knit ones, they pretty much are the mascot for fall. The great thing is there are many fit options and not all sweaters need to be large and hanging off you, although those are pretty great.

Those are some of my favorite fashion items of fall. More will be followed later as I comb through all my inspiration pictures. The great thing about fashion is that it can be whatever you want it to be. Do not follow trends if they are not your style, just wear what makes you feel good. Fashion is a form of self expression and do not let anyone dictate that. Have a wonderful first few days of fall and enjoy the bite in the air before it turns to winter and we all want to hibernate. Until we meet again!
